A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Adoption Practice to join the Adoption Service at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, supports the person behind the uniform; any time they need us, in any way they need us, for as long as they need us. Every year, SSAFA helps more than 82,000 people from the Forces family to get back on their feet; those currently serving, reserves, veterans and their families. Support is there for people at any stage in their military career; from the youngest recruit to the oldest veteran – no one’s service is ever forgotten. We give hope, help and personal support for as long as it takes to get that person’s life back to where they want it to be.

      About the role

      About the team

SSAFA Adoption Service is a registered independent adoption agency. We have a small but experienced team whose work includes the recruitment, assessment and approval of prospective adopters and, through collaborative working with local authorities, the placement of children from the Looked After Children system with approved prospective adopters.  We also provide post placement and post adoption support to adoptive families and work closely with adopted adults who wish to access their birth records.

      About you

      • HCPC Registration or equivalent
      • Post qualifying experience of working with children and families in a statutory setting
      • Experience of supervising/mentoring staff
      • Ability to meet challenging but achievable targets
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to prioritise and organise your own workload

Happy spouses

They helped me free up important time to work on my business by finding me a fantastic, dedicated, kind and communicative administrative assistant.

Emily Foster

RFS was...a platform for spouses who understood my struggles and my challenges. It felt like I came to them in pieces, deflated and very defeated and they (RFS) pieced me back together.

5

Rusila Halofaki

RFS are offering an amazing, unique opportunity in the Liquid Workforce within the recruitment world...so many doors can be opened.

5

Kate Legg

Don't give up, amazing and flexible companies do exist and RFS are 100% the best people to help you find them.

5

Amie Hills Grey

RFS was and is the only platform that exists that really understands the struggles and plight of every Armed Forces spouse.

Rusila Halofaki

The competency amongst the military spouse community is unbelievably good and the fact all our candidates were happy with remote working made this ideal for us as a small business.

Michael Coates, COMBAT pest control

I found the course to be an excellent refresher of the skills I used in my previous roles, and also a confidence booster to me, proving that I can do it again

Melody Davies, Liquid Workforce

Helpful? It has been so much more. It has given me confidence and self-belief as well as motivation and inspiration.
