Working for the Civil Service

With opportunities across the UK, offering a diverse and broad range of opportunities, the Civil Service provides an ideal employment opportunity for military spouses

Why work for the Civil Service?

The Civil Service is a group of departments or agencies operating across a multitude of disciplines. This means there are broad and diverse opportunities that harness many skills, across the UK.

They offer a large amount of flexibility in work hours and actively encourage remote working. With apprenticeships, training and up-skill opportunities, they wholly support your personal and professional development.

How do you get started?

Consider what area of employment your skills, experience and qualifications lend themselves to. With roles from Accountancy to Tax and Valuation, there are opportunities across the board.

Research the types of opportunities available. There are direct jobs that are permanent or fixed-term contracts, full-time or part-time.

Concentrate on your personal statement. Ensure you provide evidenced examples of how you fit the requirements of the job, and why you should get it.

Don't be disheartened if it is a protracted application process. You will always be notified of how you have done, it just might take some time.

The competency amongst the military spouse community is unbelievably good and the fact all our candidates were happy with remote working made this ideal for us as a small business.
