You have total control over who you work with, what support services you can provide and how much you get paid.

Your location can be anywhere - home, a coffee shop or the co-working hub.

How to become a VA

Research the industry to understand the legal requirements to set-up, what hardware and software you require and aid writing your business plan (your services, your pay rate etc).

Use your network to find clients. Previous employers, social media platforms and established VAs provide opportunities to find new business.

Do what you say you will, when you said you'd do it. Being responsible, conscientious and trustworthy is essential to maintain a positive reputation, and continue to grow your business.

Get a proper set-up for your business i.e. a professional email address, robust security and back-up systems will provide clients with peace of mind.

Who makes a good VA?

You need skills and experience that businesses want and need.

Get used to motivating yourself - in many instances, you will be working on your own, under your own steam.
