A CV guide designed especially for military spouses

This guide has been designed specifically for military spouses looking to take their next professional steps. It should help you to create a CV which positively reflects you and your experiences while also providing something you can be proud of.

This toolkit is for you if you;

  • are worried about how to present the many jobs you have had due to multiple postings,
  • have gaps in your CV and not sure how to explain them,
  • do lots of voluntary work but need advice on how to present it well

Remember, a CV is your opportunity to sell yourself to the reader. Focus on what you have done, not what you haven’t. If you don’t believe in yourself you can’t expect the reader to, so SELL YOURSELF!

Have you heard of the 'so what' mantra?

When writing your CV ask yourself, so what? Why am I adding this information here, why is it important? Is it telling the reader/recruiter what I want it to tell them in the most succinct way?

If this whole process feels uncomfortable to you, or you are struggling to work out your next steps, please do not worry. We have a free coaching programme which can really help focus you in the right direction. To learn more, click here.

Happy spouses

Recruit for Spouses found us someone who was far and above the expectations we had hoped for and would always recommend, and recruit from them in future.

RFS was...a platform for spouses who understood my struggles and my challenges. It felt like I came to them in pieces, deflated and very defeated and they (RFS) pieced me back together.

The competency amongst the military spouse community is unbelievably good and the fact all our candidates were happy with remote working made this ideal for us as a small business.

I found the course to be an excellent refresher of the skills I used in my previous roles, and also a confidence booster to me, proving that I can do it again
