Let's go!

Volunteering is an incredibly fulfilling, worthwhile thing to do. Not only do you feel like you are giving back to your community but you gain, personally and professionally from it. The recognition of the skills, experience and knowledge you can gain from volunteering is being recognised by potential employers so while you are doing good for others, you are also doing good for yourself.

In order to get started, we have put together our top 3 tips to help you…

What interests or excites you?

This could be something you have enjoyed doing in the past, or something you have fancied trying for ages. It could be related to your career aspirations, so maybe something totally different. But whatever it is, it needs to be something you're passionate about.

What time or skills do you have?

There are many volunteering opportunities available so in order to consolidate the options, work out what time you have available to give and what skills would fit well with the opportunities.

Do your research

If you search volunteering, a huge amount of options come up but you don't need to jump at the first one. Consider charities with nationwide coverage enabling you to carry despite postings; causes that interest and inspire you; opportunities that challenge and provide you with new skills. We have selected some of our top suggestions.
