On Wednesday the 11th of January Recruit for Spouses (RfS) launched their first in a series of free career guidance webinars.

The 60 minute webinar was hosted by our award-winning Personal Branding Expert, Joanna Murchie, on behalf of CV and Interview Advisors.

A military wife of fourteen years, Joanna has been with RfS for five years in her capacity as a CV Consultant and Careers Adviser and fully understands at a personal level the specific challenges faced by military partners when it comes to finding meaningful employment.

The fast paced and interactive webinar, aimed at professionals, began at 20:00 and covered subjects ranging from transforming a CV into a powerful business case to creating a professional summary and emphasising the value of the military spouse in the workplace.

“It can sometimes be difficult for spouses to attend a course or seminar run during the day, for a number of reasons spanning childcare issues, location and deployment so these short, evening webinars are a great way of engaging spouses globally, who need the support, guidance and a realistic way of achieving their career goals.” - Heledd Kendrick, CEO Recruit for Spouses

RfS saw a spectacular attendance of around 200 spouses from all over the world, logging into the live broadcast and benefitting from the real time advice and instruction.

“Absolutely grateful for the opportunity to be part of this webinar! Very informative and apart from all I got to learn, the positivity and enthusiasm given by the presenter just boosted my confidence. We need more of this!” R.H - Military Spouse

The Q&A provided at the end of the webinar was overwhelming with over one hundred questions being posed to Joanna. In light of this RfS are now hosting a follow-up broadcast on our private members Facebook forum and rolling out the second webinar in the series, an Introduction to LinkedIn in a Professional capacity, to be broadcast in February.
